Also known as the Great Siberian Way, the Trans-Siberian Railway (nicknamed the Trans-Sib by locals) runs through the entire continent of Asia. It connects the largest cities including Moscow, Perm, Irkustsk, and Vladivostok. The history of the railway begins as far back as 1891 when it was built to protect the Russian territories along the Pacific Ocean. The Russians know these territories by the name Dalniy Vostok, meaning, the Far East. Here are six reasons to do the Trans-Siberian:

The Trans-Siberian Express (as it is also known) is the longest railway in the world, at 9,288 kms. It goes through 10 time zones. It starts at Yaroslavskyi railway station in Moscow and goes all the way to the railway station in Vladivistok. The Trans-Siberian Express is certainly something amazing to behold. With the incredibly long route that the Trans-Siberian Railway takes it goes through many other towns and cities as well. It goes through and makes stops at Novosibirsk, Irkutsk, and Krasnoyarsk. It also goest through Ekaterinburg and Perm.
Trains: For our tours we choose the most comfortable and fastest trains on the route, but they are not the cheapest ones. Inside, you will get modern furnishings, air-conditioning and TV.
Types of carriages:
That is why we do not book them for our guests.Additional info: All carriages listed above have a WC. A few long-distance trains also have a shower in special carriages for extra pay. There is a restaurant car in every train. The menu is not so variable but the prices are affordable. We highly recommend making stops in a few cities for a day or two while travelling along the Trans-Siberian Railway instead of just doing it all at once from Moscow to Beijing. All trains travelling along the Tran-Sib usually stop for only 15 or 20 minutes at each station, which is obviously not enough to explore a city. So for you, staying in a city for a day or two would make your long Tran-Sib travel more comfortable.
One of the more popular reasons for traveling on the Trans-Siberian Express is to take tours to Lake Baikal. Tours to Baikal Lake are very popular because because it is not only the oldest lake in the world, but it is also the deepest. Its average depth is 744.4 m and its deepest point lies 1,642 m under the surface. It is also known as the Pearl of Siberia. People take tours to Lake Baikal for the simple reason that there is just so much to do and so much to see! No matter what season it is there is always a range of activities to choose from. In the winter tourists can take a three day ice adventure where they travel by military jeep. From November to March, people love the excitement of the Siberian Adrenaline Rush where they can enjoy the speed of snowmobiling through the Siberian backwoods. Dog sledding tours are also popular at this time of year and trips can be as short as an hour and as long as a couple of days. In the summer there is much to do as well. A charter boat vacation allows visitors to explore the area and observe wild and untouched shores that cannot be reached by land. Tourists also enjoy fishing for taimen, grayling, trout, and pike. If you want a little more adventure try a diving safari where you can enjoy the beautiful marine life or go sailing and watch the sunset.
