True Russia concludes its two years of programme work

In two years, the organisation has been able to provide more than $1,500,000 in humanitarian aid
28.08.2024

Dear friends and supporters of True Russia,

We would like to thank all of you for your kind support of our humanitarian initiatives!

Since the early days of the full-scale invasion, we have worked alongside you to provide aid to the victims of this horrific war and to draw the world’s attention to the atrocities taking place in Ukraine due to Putin's regime’s aggression against this country. Together, we’ve raised funds for humanitarian programs supporting Ukrainian refugees, published a series of anti-war features and interviews with anti-war campaigners in our journal, and created an information ‘Help and Advice’ online hub, which shared news about charitable campaigns, cultural events, and anti-war initiatives organised by Russians in support of Ukraine.

When we founded our organisation in March 2022, our initial goal was to raise at least $500,000. However, your generous contributions have allowed us to triple that amount. Over the past two years, with your help, we’ve provided more than $1,500,000 in humanitarian aid. In collaboration with 15 international NGOs, these projects have helped thousands of Ukrainian refugees to start rebuilding their lives both within and beyond Ukraine’s borders, offering them the opportunity to live and work in the country’s western regions. Thanks to your support, we have been able to:

  1. Provide medical and psychological rehabilitation to children evacuated from Mariupol, which was destroyed and occupied by the Russian army;
  2. Offer psychological support to children who lost their parents during the conflict;
  3. Build temporary housing for refugees from the flooded area near the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant;
  4. Supply water purification systems to those remaining in the flooded zone;
  5. Help tens of thousands of Ukrainians displaced by Russian aggression settle into new homes;
  6. Cover prosthetics costs for Ukrainian civilians who lost limbs due to landmines placed by Russian forces;
  7. Purchase essential equipment for mobile medical units in regions of Ukraine where hospitals have been destroyed.

This is just a partial list of how your donations have helped save and improve the lives of Ukrainian civilians affected by Putin's aggression. We are proud of your support and deeply grateful for your generosity and compassion.

This month, we funded the last of the grant requests we received and have decided to temporarily pause the acceptance of donations until we receive new requests and develop a new strategy for our humanitarian work. If you wish to continue supporting the organisations that have previously received grants from True Russia, we have included a list below, and you can help them directly.

We remain committed to opposing the war and Putin’s regime, and we will keep you informed as soon as new fundraising initiatives are launched.

We are deeply thankful for all you have done and look forward to achieving even more together.
